TIPS FOR RECOGNIZING GENUINE SHEEPSKIN EASILY
The simplest way to distinguish genuine sheepskin to fake ones is by using your finger to push hardly on the leather surface. If the leather is real, dents will remain around the finger. However, dents will disappear quickly after you remove your finger as genuine leather has elasticity. Fake leather will not because it is made of synthetical materials, means having no elasticity, the dents will remain for a long time before disappearing.
Sheepskin surface has many minor hair pores and is ellipse-shaped, 3 – 5 pores makes a row and is evenly distributed.
On sunny days, pores expand which makes temperature escapes easily, meanwhile on winter days, hair pores will shrink and keep us warm. Therefore, sheepskin products can be used around year, in both summer and winter. In summer, genuine leather is sun-proof but it keeps our body warm –like a coat in winter.
Another tip to recognize real sheepskin is by burning products through fire. If it’s real, after having leather over fire, you will notice a smell of burning hair. Fake leather will making a smell of burning plastic.
Additionally, we can notice real sheepskin after a period of use. Genuine leather’s beauty remain after a long time, it will not get flabby, and there is no fold after being hung. Besides, real sheepskin will not be tear easily and it help protect the user.
